Altéa (Spain) Road Camp

Alicante, Spain, is a dream destination for cyclists seeking the perfect training environment. With its mild Mediterranean climate, you can enjoy year-round riding, even in the winter months. The region offers a diverse mix of terrains, from challenging mountain climbs like the iconic Col de Rates to scenic coastal routes with breathtaking views of the Mediterranean Sea. Quiet, well-maintained roads and a vibrant cycling community make Alicante a haven for both amateurs and pros. Plus, with excellent local cuisine and culture, it’s the ideal place to combine hard training with well-deserved recovery.

Included

  • 10 night stay in the heart of Altéa in a cycling specific hotel (double occupancy).

    • You will enjoy a hotel on Altea’s seafront, delicious international and Mediterranean cuisine with show cooking, entertainment and music several days a week, gym, swimming pool, palm trees, Beauty Centre ... And if you are a cyclist, the hotel for you: Bike Zone is an exclusive centre for cyclists, able to hold more than 200 bicycles. You will also find a large terrace surrounded by an extensive green area ideal for all kinds of outdoor events, and more than 800 m² of venues adapted so that your meetings will be a success. 

  • All meals included on site

  • Shuttle to and from Alicante airport (March 1st and 10th)

  • Follow vehicle with spare wheels, special treats and treatments

  • Camp specific jersey (bib available in addition)

  • Personal travel insurance

  • Bike rental (if you don't want to travel with your own)

The goal of this camp is to accumulate base kilometres while using the beautiful Alicante mountains as our work tool

A typical day at Altéa camp ranges from 60 to 120km and includes 800 to 2500m. Everything is controlled and analysed by our professional coach.

Luc Arseneau, National team coach for 20 years, will lead the camp and offer his personal expertise to all participants. 

Basic plan / schedule: 

  • March 1st - Airport pick up in the morning, short afternoon ride (depending on shuttle schedule)

  • March 2nd - 2 hour ride

  • March 3rd - 3 hour ride

  • March 4th - 3-4 hour ride

  • March 5th - Recovery day (60 minutes coffee ride) and Calpe visit (optional)

  • March 6th - 2 hour ride

  • March 7th - 3 hour ride

  • March 8th - 4 hour ride

  • March 9th - 4 hour ride

  • March 10th - Airport drop off

 

During the week, we also included some group / coaching discussions on various subjects.
